Change of fund manager - NESTOR China and NESTOR Far East

Goodbye, Anna Ho; hello, Florian Weidinger

Change of fund manager at the NESTOR China (unit class -B-: LU0656651824, unit class –V-: LU1433074090) and NESTOR Fernost (unit class -B- LU0054738967, unit class -V-: LU1433074256): Florian Weidinger (35) of Hansabay will, with effect from 1 April, be taking over the management of both funds from Anna Ho, who, having spent more than two decades in the financial sector, now wishes to seek new roles and spend more time with her family. "Anna Ho has done a splendid job for us over all these years. We're very grateful to her and wish her nothing but the best for her future projects", says Michael Kohlhase, member of the Supervisory Board of NESTOR Investment Management S.A.

Florian Weidinger is Hansabay's CEO and Chief Investment Officer. He founded the company in 2011. Hansabay is a regulated fund management company in Singapore and handles strategic investment for several international clients. Both Florian Weidinger and his business partner and senior fund manager Thiam Kon Lim (39) live in Singapore. "Our team in Singapore has been successfully implementing a thematic investment strategy in Asia for many years. We can see outstanding long-term investment opportunities, especially in small and medium-sized enterprises, quite independently of the overall market environment.  Companies such as these are meeting the growing demand for, among other things, more food and that of constantly improving quality. And with towns and cities growing, consumer durables such a refrigerators and infrastructure-related capital goods are a big thing too", explains Florian Weidinger. He points out that urbanisation is at its height in China with around 55 percent, stands at no more than some 35 percent in India, and is about 45 percent in South-East Asia as a whole. By comparison, Europe and the USA, at around 80 percent, are already fully developed.

There is, then, no need to change the investment strategy, with its thematic approach and concentration on smaller businesses, although individual changes are being made to give the funds more distinct separate profiles. The China component in the NESTOR Fernost fund, for example, is being scaled back and the portfolio rebuilt as more of a regional fund. The idea is that investors should be able in future to enjoy bigger profits from lucrative regions in Asia that have at present only just started on their road towards development.

"We are delighted to have found in Florian Weidinger an experienced Asia expert who, like his colleagues, lives and works locally and so is able to see and hear from close quarters what is happening on the market", adds Michael Kohlhase.
